VIVIX, exterior architectural panels by Formica Group, was debuted at the AIA Convention in Miami. The 600 square foot exhibit offered up a small footprint for launching a completely new architectural product so KLI designed an 8’ diameter, origami-inspired, sphere to sit in the heart of the space and showcase the features of the product. VIVIX panels were cut and applied to an elaborate, concealed, steel armature to create the structure. To compliment the faceted sphere, carpet tiles were laid in a dramatic M. C. Escher-style pattern. Signage consisting of fabric plains connected to form a triangle floated overhead. Fourteen 20’ tall by 4’ wide sheer fabric panels imprinted with VIVIX imagery hung throughout the space creating an ethereal cityscape through which to wander.
