It’s been more than a month since our last post and I’m delighted to be sharing this update with you from my desk at 7400 Pershing. To say that it is peaceful here is an understatement. Our geothermal cooling is soooooo quiet (and cool!). Our solar panels are doing their job, too. We received our…Read more

I’ve been a bad blogger. Sorry for the delay in sharing progress updates on 7400 Pershing. We’ve been busy pushing the project to the finish line. Move-in is set for June 1 and we have a lot to do to hit that date. Since the last post the drywall been hung and finished, the second floor…Read more

The plans to install a rain garden across the front of 7400 are moving along well. We recently were notified that our application to the Deer Creek Watershed Alliance has been approved. This is great for two reasons: it’s confirmation that the brilliant Two Sallys are indeed brilliant and that the Alliance will help to…Read more

We’ve been waiting on some good visual progress to share new news and finally, it’s here. We arrived home from spring break to find the kind of forward motion we’ve been looking for. On the outside, we are excited to share some shots of our 24 new solar panels perfectly situated on our south facing…Read more

It’s messy, noisy work but it’s going surprisingly fast. In case you are a novice like me and don’t know much about geothermal, here…Read more

A few updates on Pershing to kick off the week… The geothermal pipes are in! The wells will be drilled soon…more later on that! This photo was taken from what will soon be our new utility room looking west toward the kitchen and our back door. The old stairs have been removed to…Read more

We’ve been away for a couple of weeks and of course could hardly wait to get back to the building. So today, with an outside temperature of 100 degrees fahrenheit (why didn’t we stay in Colorado?!), I popped in to find two hard working, weary guys. They’ve spent their morning busting up concrete to make…Read more

I know I promised to write weekly (at a minimum) but I got ahead of myself. You see, there is this little step in the beginning called permitting and that takes a bit. A couple of days ago my dear friend Matthew Porter was checking in to see if I had posted anything lately. When…Read more
