Headquarters Graphics

Project Information

Kuhlmann Leavitt drew inspiration from contemporary features of the new facility, as well as color, texture and lifestyle imagery of North American agricultural landscapes. The designers set out to create environmental graphics that Rabo employees and visitors would find engaging, inspiring and educational.
Using large infographics, typography-driven fact walls, photography and dimensional letters, each floor reflects on different aspects of Rabo’s clients and their industry: the farm, the farmer, and products (food, fiber and fuel). Taking cues from the interior finishes, a nature-inspired color palette is used throughout, changing with each level of their headquarters to add interest, differentiate the information and aid in wayfinding. Floor by floor, the infographics feature iconography focusing on client-specific crops and/or products, documenting process steps from production through distribution. A large sculpture spanning the three levels of the main stairwell was designed and built from common industrial hay rakes painted to compliment the project palette, bringing a visual element inspired by the industry’s machinery on a monumental scale.
