VIVIX, exterior architectural panels by Formica Group, was debuted at the AIA Convention in Miami.
The small 600sf exhibit footprint had to be maximized for the launch of a completely new architectural product. At the heart of the space sat the KLI designed, 8’ diameter, origami-inspired sphere showcasing product features. To create the structure, VIVIX panels were cut and applied to an elaborate, concealed, steel armature. To compliment the faceted sphere, carpet tiles were laid in a dramatic M. C. Escher-style pattern. Fabric plains connected to form a triangle that floated overhead announcing the Formica brand. Fourteen 20’ tall by 4’ wide sheer fabric panels imprinted with VIVIX imagery hung throughout the space creating an ethereal cityscape through which to wander.
